Various people have various ways to chat about the complex web of mystery called neurons. I call these neural networks “maps” because they show us how to see and navigate our world.

The more often you think, feel, or behave in a certain way, the more likely it is that a map will form to match that way of being. The more you use a particular map, the stronger and faster it becomes, which means that the most frequently used map becomes your dominant way of being.

These maps become a part of you and guide you in the way you think, feel, and behave.

Another feature of these maps is that simply being exposed to another person’s map will create a corresponding map within you. Ongoing exposure to that person’s map will strengthen the matching map within you.

This is why we tend to be as happy, healthy, and successful as the people we spend the most time with. The people you are in relationships with will change your heart and mind. Simply put, who we are and who we become is deeply connected to who we love.
